Indian Lake sits on a large reservoir comprised of two villages: Russells Point and Lakeview. Being only 20 miles southeast of Lima makes Indian Lake a popular summer spot for many Allen County residents. There are a plethora of events held at the Lake: starting with Jimmy Buffet weekend in February and ending with the Ring of Fire the Sunday of Labor Day weekend.
While Indian Lake is still commonly known as a destination resort, many families have begun developing it for their second or retirement homes, with many new permanent housing available. No matter what, Indian Lake is the perfect summer spot.
Fun fact: Indian Lake used to be home to Sandy Beach Park, an amusement park and dancehall. It was torn down in 1982 after the popularity of Cedar Point and Kings Island drew visitors away.
